Transformation: Recent Works by Les Namingha

My life’s path has been blessed to explore history, nature, music, migrations, and spiritual truths.  My wonder of what I experience, within my personal journey, is expressed through my work.  As my explorations jump from one scene to another or more often, intertwine with one another, so my expressions on canvas, clay, and other materials follow that path.

During the past 20 years I have expressed myself through clay as my primary material. I continue to use clay, but have emphasized the use of paints and textural elements in my most recent work. The style of my work has continued to evolve, structured by combining influences that prompt me during that particular moment of my life. This has led to fresh concepts and an ongoing renewal of my creative vision.

The theme of my latest creations is “Transformation.” I will be emphasizing my work through paintings. In essence, I am transforming myself into a “painter.”  Because of this different format, I undoubtedly create a shift in my mindset, which transforms the work and ultimately transforms my audience. With these new works, it is my goal to increase depth in both application of materials and personal message.  The achievement of which can provide the viewer with an inspirational vision within their own life journey.
