"Study for Polychrome Bowl Series 2011 by Les Namingha
$750.00

"Study for Polychrome Bowl"
Series 2011
10" x 10"
Les Namingha
Hopi / Zuni
LCN 28
$750

This painting was done as a study for a polychrome bowl.  Alot of color and heavy texturing is used in this painting.  Les likes to use circles and combines them with pencil lines and crackle glaze.

Les Namingha is the grandson of Rachael Namingha Nampeyo.  He received a bachelor's degree in design from Brigham Young University.  While in college, Les spent summers at Hopi learning to make pottery under Dextra's tutelage.  Les has participated in Santa Fe Indian Market from1992-2001, receiving many awards.  In 1997 Les won Best of Division in both traditional & non-traditional pottery and Best of Class Award in pottery.  Les is fulfilling his love of all art forms by increasing his time creating paintings on canvas and board.
Watch the video at the bottom of the Homepage to hear Les talk about the inspirations for his work.
