Jovanna learned to do beadwork from her grandmother and mother, Veronica Poblano.  She has always had an eye for combining colors & a wide variety of beautiful beads.  She taught herself to create the finely constructed beadwork elements.  Her work has been described as "modern eclecticism".
"My late grandfather, whom I never met, inspires me through his work and his memory.  It is his vision that I am still carrying on."
Jovanna participates in prestigious shows, SWAIA Indian Market, Santaa Fe., NM, Heard Museum Indian Fair & Market, Phoenix, AZ. and Smithsonian's NMAI Art Market.  Five of her pieces were part of the traveling exhibit, Changing Hands:  Art Without reservation, 1, which started at the Museum of Art & Design In New York City in 2002.
