Purchased from the artist at an Eight Northern Pueblo Show in the late 1990's. 
Dennis Pioche started carving at age 2 and by age 4 he was carving his own toys.  Dennis was influenced by his grandfather, John Begay.  In 1986 he began carving seriously and he uses cottonwood that he finds in the wash near Farmington, NM.
